It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Cell and Gene Therapy Congress 2026.
The field of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy is evolving rapidly, moving steadily from bench to bedside. In this advancing landscape, MSCs have garnered significant attention for their immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative properties, with growing clinical experience across a broad range of indications, including heart disease, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, degenerative conditions and others.
As clinicians and scientists, we share a collective responsibility to ensure that this progress is guided by sound scientific evidence, ethical practice, regulatory awareness, and, above all, patient safety. This congress has been designed with that responsibility at its core.
Over the coming days, the programme will bring together experts, clinicians, researchers, and industry partners to share evidence-based insights, real-world clinical experience, and practical implementation strategies in MSC therapy. The focus extends beyond innovation to address key clinical considerations such as patient selection, dosing strategies, routes of administration, safety profiles, and interpretation of clinical outcomes.
We hope you find the congress scientifically robust, clinically relevant, and inspiring, and that it fosters meaningful discussions to shape the future of cell-based therapeutics. I wish you a rewarding, engaging, and productive congress.
Warm regards,
Academician Emeritus Prof Dato' Dr Cheong Soon Keng
President, College of Pathologists, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia
Co-Chair, Cell and Gene Therapy Congress 2026
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Cell and Gene Therapy Congress 2026.
This congress brings together clinicians, scientists, and industry partners at a pivotal time in the evolution of cell and gene therapy. In particular, the growing clinical application of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)–based therapies highlight the importance of thoughtful translation, rigorous evidence, and shared clinical experience.
The programme has been carefully curated to encourage meaningful dialogue across disciplines, with a strong emphasis on practical clinical insights, emerging evidence, and real-world challenges in implementing MSC therapies. We hope this meeting will foster collaboration, critical discussion, and knowledge exchange that will ultimately advance patient care.
I look forward to engaging discussions over the coming days and to welcoming you to a congress that is both scientifically enriching and clinically relevant.
Warm regards,
Associate Prof Dr Leong Pooi Pooi
Co-Chair, Cell and Gene Therapy Congress 2026
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Cell and Gene Therapy Congress 2026. The scientific programme of this congress has been deliberately structured to address the critical scientific and clinical questions surrounding mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)–based therapies. As the field advances, there is a growing need to move beyond proof-of-concept studies toward well-designed clinical trials, standardised manufacturing processes, validated potency assays, and clearly defined clinical endpoints.
This meeting places strong emphasis on the quality of evidence, including trial design, patient stratification, dosing strategies, routes of administration, safety monitoring, and long-term follow-up. Key sessions will also address challenges related to product characterisation, batch consistency, regulatory compliance, and the interpretation of heterogeneous clinical data.
By bringing together basic scientists, translational researchers, clinicians, and regulatory experts, this congress aims to foster critical scientific discourse and responsible innovation. Open discussion of limitations, failures, and unresolved questions is encouraged, as these are essential to the maturation of the field.
I hope this congress provides a rigorous, intellectually demanding platform that advances both scientific understanding and clinically meaningful application of cell-based therapies.
Warm regards,
Associate Prof Dr Teoh Hoon Koon
Scientific Chair, Cell and Gene Therapy Congress 2026
